The Stitches & Craft Show Brisbane

Well ladies.......The babysitters are booked, there is fuel in the Tarago, I have packed a spare pair of knickers and we are off tomorrow to the (gulp) Stitches & Craft Show in Brisbane! This event has been on the agenda for a while now and we have been slowly ticking off the days! (Quite clearly we have no life, or so my husband tells me.) "We" being my sister over at The Art Of Indecision and my mother is tagging along too.... and I just know I am going to be sooooo overwhelmed and red in the face, facing a sea of crafty, creative women and all of those textiles, fabrics, spools of thread, felt, softies....and oh the list is endless! And I know, just know that I will come back with all of these hair-brained business ideas etc to put in the ever expanding "ideas" file that just never, ever, seem to come to any fruition!
The show starts today 29th April - 3 May, 10am - 5pm daily @ The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and tickets start at $16.00 an adult and can be bought at the door, so when in Rome.......

Shop Girl

OK - one of my goals for this life of mine is to open a shop! I will not be happy, nor be stopped until I do....Imagine a shop like this one? That black and white striped awning is divine, and I am in love with those double doors, and the two big plate glass windows....... imagine the displays you could create coaxing your potential customers to come in! I simply could not walk past a store as pretty as this and not go in! I WANT I WANT I WANT!

Time is of the essence......

I just love a pretty wall clock....... Whether it be in the study, kitchen or bathroom. Retro, Industrial, vintage, mod, or french provincial. Black, white, silver or coloured......it doesn't matter what type - they just look fantastic! I have just bought one (which I got for a song!) which I will post a picture of, once my camera battery is re-charged!

Lest We Forget

25th April

"They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We Will Remember Them"

LEST WE FORGET

This gen 'y'er certainly won't. Thankyou diggers for fighting for our freedom............

Happy Birthday To Me!

Well today is my 28th Birthday! Yah! (I don't know what I am yah-ing for?? Most probably for the cake!) for the first thing i did this morning was check the mirror for wrinkles and signs of premature aging of the skin since I have a sick addition to the sun......(more about that another post.) I did however receive off my fantabulous husband my brand spankin' new Mimco bag (which I confess, I purchased over three months ago, on credit mind, and also on the proviso by my husband that I wasn't supposed to use it until my actual birthday! Needless to say that DIDN'T happen. I have been using it since I bought it! (Shh). So it was very nice to receive another present this morning a gift voucher for an Absolute Spa Ritual. Which is from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head! (Can't wait to use that one!). So tonight my husband and I are going out for dinner....ah shucks he spoils me so..... Now I am thinking with money I receive from my birthday I shall purchase one of these divine Tiffany & Co Key Pendants. Aren't they just fabulous and such a statement piece? I just know I will be in the biggest tizz trying to make a decision on which one to pick though!!!

Bringing Edgy Back

I am really starting to love black in home furnishings. Not much is needed. I really think it makes the space look grown up, sophisticated and somewhat a little edgy..........I can feel a new lampshade in black coming on for my entrance way.........

Rays at Watego's Beach Byron Bay

Oohhh it is my birthday on Friday and my husband did mention something about going away for the weekend......hhmm perhaps it is to the beautiful Rays at Watego's Beach, Byron Bay. There are just 7 boutique rooms housed in the exotic, Mediterranean/Moroccan villa.......now all I need to take are my keenies and my mal surfboard so I can go surfing with my buddy Elle.....

In Living Colour

I thought I would post regarding colour today. I have always thought of myself as a kind of "Neutral" kind-of-gal. But I am starting to notice the introduction of colour into my home. (It could be a result of my now defunct subscription to the Domino magazine.) As I am getting older my style is evolving and I am just loving living colour. Great big pops of colour......so I thought I would post a few colourful photos today. I am especially loving that dining table with all of those pastel high-backed chairs. I seriously can't imagine my husband (or any other husband for that matter) allowing those chairs in the family household.....and to have an entry way with that spectacular aqua.....*sigh*

A little bit of heaven on earth......

Well here it is ladies......"A little bit of heaven on earth". Belinda's Store situated in beautiful Yamba would have to be the prettiest store I have seen in a long time! Those delightfully painted pastel pink walls are just divine, and everywhere you look your senses are just suffocated from all the prettiness that abounds. Specklefarm, Orson & Blake, Suboo,
Ginger & Smart, Sambag - Belinda certainly has an eye for detail, however I am assuming one would having helped establish a flagship store for Escada in Dublin and then moving on to work as a stylist and then later for Versace! (Jealous Moi?) OF COURSE! Well aren't you?

Beautiful Yamba

Yamba Main Beach

Yamba Ocean Bath

Whiting Beach

Well I am back from my wild week of camping.....Of course the rain came in buckets creating copious amounts of mud, and the old vomiting tore through our campsite like the plague. (I think I may of jinxed myself!) I did manage however to get some beautiful shots of Yamba's "Whiting Beach" and the Bay on the days it wasn't bucketing down....... If you haven't yet been to Yamba than I suggest you do. It is the most quaint little picturesque town. Some of the shops are to-do-for. So come back Monday as I will be posting about my favourite store in Yamba.
Have a great weekend!

Off Camping!!!

Well ladies I am off for our annual Easter camping trip tomorrow for a week at lovely Yamba! Wish me luck and lets hope the rain stays away as well as that nasty Diarrhoea & Vomiting bug that is currently tearing through the state....... Can you imagine being sick with that at Camping??? (My worst nightmare minus the toilet!)....... Now my only other problem is that I wish THIS tent was mine (not the awful khaki and cream-ish cabin tent that I will be sporting down in Yamba ).......why is life so darn unfair?

Have a safe and happy Easter everyone and I will be back in a week!

Yasmin's Cluster Art Wall

Today I thought I would post my daughter's Cluster Art wall I have created in her room. It is still not quite finished at the moment as I have a collection of porcelain door knobs that will go in between the frames in different pastel colours........ I picked up that darling mirror for $3 at Vinnies and spray painted it white in high gloss. Chalkboard Frame I made. "God is Love" and "Love" prints are from Made By Girl by the very talented Jennifer Ramos....Oooohhh how I love having a little girl......
