Here are some lovely images to whet your whimsy....I Happened upon Sweetie Pie Restaurant in New York in the latest issue (8) of LMNOP. (to download click here) I would just love to take my Yasmin here for desert - she is only three but know she would love it (she appreciates her decor just like her mummy!). You see it is geared towards children and adults alike, and boasts bright pink couches, mirrored walls and ceilings, marble floors, offers a great kids menu ,and get this, an 18-scoop Sweetie Pie Sundae! How lovely!! Did I also mention that you can eat in an ornate birdcage? How lovely to see a restaurant that delivers for the adults (Apparently they turn out a mean Manhatten at the cocktail bar) as well as for the children. I saw it last night too and loved it. Was going to post about it, you beat me to it. Isn't this place just gorgeous. My daughter wants to go there too, she loved looking at their website with me. I hope something like this opens up here :)
Great minds think alike Cyma! Lol! It would be great if we had something like this here! I certainly would be a frequent visitor! x
An adorable place! I'm visiting New York in the winter and that will be one place I think I will try to check out.
Christine - be sure to take lots of pics! Lucky You!
That place is adorable!!! I must make a mental note to go there next time I go to NY!
Can't wait to visit with my daughter next month!!
Penelope - you are soooo lucky. Be sure to take lots of pictures for all of us who can't get there!
Just found your blog, which I'm loving, and was scrolling through and saw this post. I learned about Sweetiepie via GOOP and it instantly became a "must" for our last trip home to New York (I'm American my family lives in Adelaide). It did NOT disappoint. Had my birthday lunch there (sadly, not in the birdcage), but it was heaven to sip an absolutely divine champagne cocktail and gravlox, with the occasional nibble on my boys' grilled cheese. GO!
